Technology Reigns At ASIS

After tearing down the booth and packing for home, it’s pretty easy to write that ASIS was a successful event. Next year’s tradeshow will be held in Anaheim, Calif., and today is a good time to begin planning to attend.

My final update includes technology updates that include a technology by Stanley Security Solutions, which features a BEST wireless lock with decision-making power at the door. This include a wireless access controller for parking gates, turnstiles and hard to wire applications.

Behavioral Recognition Systems introduced its cognitive video analytics software, called AISight, which learns behavior patterns in complex surveillance environments, which the company claims will recognize a broad range of abnormalities with acute accuracy.

One of the benefits of BRS Labs’ software will classify new threats without the need of constant human involvement to calibrate rules and update settings. This could be the beginning of a new era in video analytics.

In a month, Security Products magazine will be sponsoring a Webinar concentrating on School Security. Our sponsors include Video IQ, Samsung Semiconductor and Avigilon.

Avigilon first jumped into the camera industry and is now concentrating on its software offerings. Yesterday’s visit at ASIS proved company officials can provide a software solution that will provide administrators, faculty and students with a safe and secure environment for gathering knowledge.

I hope you’ll join us on Oct. 22, for a Webinar that is sure to change the way school security is viewed. We’ll have a signup page posted on www.secprodonline.com soon.

Thanks for joining us during this tradeshow, and allowing Security Products magazine to bring you daily updates. Thanks to our sponsors of the daily newsletter, who make it all possible. Click on their links within the e-newsletter and learn about their offerings and technologies.
