STOPware Visitor Management System Designed For Schools

Strengthening the security safety net is a major initiative for most educational facilities today as officials look to make the school a more secure environment for both students and teachers. In step with this development is the PassagePoint EDU Visitor Management System from STOPware, which was on display at ASIS 2008.

“PassagePoint EDU is designed with advanced features to control, access and monitor pedestrian traffic, and can help provide the foundation for improvements to a school’s overall safety and security plan,” said Paul Terschuren, vice president of sales and marketing for STOPware. “As well, the unique flexibility of the system allows it to be easily customized to meet a school’s specific requirements and to be readily implemented.”

With PassagePoint EDU, school administrators can easily sign in, track and badge visitors. The system also gives users the ability to scan business cards, driver licenses, passports or other forms of ID for easy data entry.

For added security, users can import and use a watch list for instant notification and entry denial. Plus, they can connect in real time to national and/or local sex offender lists with photos to help in taking appropriate preventive security measures, if required.

Custom reports, such as total number of monthly visitors or types of visitors, can be easily programmed in addition to a variety of common report templates that are available.

These reports can help to identify trends or be used for other kinds of analysis. The system can also be set up with custom design entry screens and is available for use in several languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and more). Additional features include the ability to post child custodial information and to pre-register visitors, substitute teachers and groups.
