Southwest Microwave’s Intrepid sensors provide outdoor perimeter security through a single-platform network. The line includes the MicroPoint II fence detection sensor and the MicroTrack II buried cable sensor. Both sensors feature a target location to 10 feet and a software-based zone assignment application that ties into CCTV presets. The K-band MicroWave 330 digital microwave link is equipped with an 800-foot detection range and six field-selectable modulation channels with microwave path monitoring. The sensors network via an RS-422 data interface.

RISCO’s iREX and iREX Plus UL-listed digital PIR motion detectors are equipped with multiple request-to-exit applications. The iREX features adjustable relay latch time, remote input, an LED and 12- to 30-volts AC or DC power operation. The iREX Plus detector is equipped with IQ Logic motion detection. Both models can be mounted on a wall or ceiling.

Honeywell’s 5800PIR-OD wireless outdoor motion detector is a solution for outdoor sensing applications in difficult-to-wire locations. It has an adjustable range of 40 feet, immunity against large and small animals, and two passive infrared sensors. When used with Total Connect, home and business owners can be notified via e-mail or text message when the alarm has been triggered. The sensor is weatherproof and has a temperature range of -4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.

Self-Recording Camera
The Spyder SW2600DVR from Sperry West can be set to only record motion or continuous activity. With a 4 GB SD card, the camera records up to five hours of video. The camera comes with a 12-volt power supply, battery back-up system and remote control. Recordings can be downloaded on an SD card slot-equipped computer.

The Morphis Evo from Matrox Imaging can record and encode up to 16 full D1 video streams in H.264 format. Each channel supports motion, blind and night detection, as well as detection of video loss. The display overlay also supports region blanking. Eight sensor inputs, eight relay outputs and a serial RS-485/422 interface are available as an add-on module. Software support is available for Microsoft Windows XP and consists of the Matrox Imaging Library or the MIL-Lite development tool kits for creating custom applications.
